CUSTOMERS HOW CAN WE HELP AT CHRISTMAS

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

This is a bit late but anyway here goes.

Today I had 3 card addressed to roads on my walk with no house numbers and a name like Jones or Smith. The particular road had over 250 houses on it.

I also had 5 cards that had no post code but as the road name was similar to ones on my walk they were sorted to mine. However, as I have done my walk for 4 years now I recognise most names and they were not them. When I checked with those addresses they also did not recognise them.

I also I had 2 cards that had no post code and no post town - for the same reason knew they were not mine so sent them onto to another DO that has similar road names or districts.

Another 2 cards for the same person were returned by the householder as the intended applicant had moved. Also 3 for 1 who had died.

Now my rough maths says that just today that's 15 cards and letters that will not get to the intended recipient because of poor addressing, also none of them had a return address so when they are finally "killed off" the sender will think we have lost them, when in all reality we have been unable to deliver or return.

Tip of the day is when sending out cards please put a return address on the back of the envelopes.

Merry Christmas to all our users.

Any cards without return addresses that are given back to me I tell them that they might as well keep them as all that happens is they are sent to the RLC then disposed of.
