Royal mail failing to do their job.

Post by johnsmith87 »

how hard is it to post a parcel to someones house? when you pay extra to get it to your house quicker it should be delivered on time?? so why is mine late and i now have to wait longer for it to come? cant be that hard to make a delivery to someones house on time but it clearly must be for royal mail.

Failure rate of Special Deliveries is about 1% so it looks like you've been very unlucky. If it was addressed properly and there was no attempted delivery on the due day then the sender should claim a refund of the postage paid.

Did you get your tracking number from Amazon? if you have it then you can track it along the RM system.

Royal Mail don't deliver everything Amazon send out, you've the likes of Hermes etc. Whats the first 2 letters of the tracking number then we can see if its RM or not.

A bit more difficult than what you might think if you have never done the job! But if you have paid the excess for SP then there is no excuse for the item not getting there considering the process it goes through (e.g. checks etc.) and the 1% fail record speaks for itself but it still does happen sadly.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

My wife ordered something this week from Amazon and paid £5 for guaranteed next day delivery.
It was though sent Royal Mail First Class, for which she should have paid just £1, so the fault had it not arrived the next day was Amazon's not Royal Mail's.
The same might have happened with your parcel. When it arrives let us know if you had to sign for it and whether it had a 'sd', a '1' or something else top right of the address.

It'll also say SG on it if it's a Saturday special.

be aware I paid for next day delivery from Amazon £7!

It came tracked not special and didn't arrive until 2 days later

given I work at my delivery office I know we didn't mess up and told Amazon this when they tried to blame us, and got my postage money back as I could prove by the tracking number that it was not at my office when it should have been

we are very easy to blame

It is not always our fault

Me, you, many others too no doubt conned by Amazon being paid a higher amount and using a cheaper service, £4 or so extra clear profit if not many perople notice or complain.
