Any current delivery problems in LA3 and surrounding area?

Post by davthepunk »

It's just that I've been expecting a couple of parcels from abroad that haven't turned up yet...

One sent from the USA (posted 5th March, last entry on the USPS website tracking side of things is 7th March)
One sent from Germany on the 5th/6th of March

I thought that they might have arrived by now (have checked with my local delivery office - they don't have them waiting for me to collect), going on past experience of ordering things online. Any of you guys know of any delays to the international post affecting my location?

I'm also aware that customs hold up may be a possibility, particularly on the US parcel, considering the value, assuming that it's been declared correctly by the seller. Is there any way of finding out if this is the case here?

Thanks very much once again, guys.

Still no luck.

The one sent from the USA, I can certainly buy that being stuck in customs, but I don't think that I've ever had something sent from Germany that's taken this long...

I've informed the sellers and I'm certainly prepared to wait a while longer, but if they don't turn up, what should I do next?

Is there anyone who works my local area/somewhere roughly nearby on here who can comment on this? I'm getting worried now.

It's only been a couple of weeks so you really should give it a bit more time, I've known packets to take a month from the US.

Yeah, it's just concerning me a bit that two things I've been expecting haven't turned up. Thoughts of 'has someone nicked them?' surfacing - not the Royal Mail staff specifically, rather other people in flats (though I'm more often than not first one to the mail pile in the morning), or if I've been 'carded', whether someone else has collected it from town and pretended to be me.

My experience with ordering things from the USA so far has been pretty much 'delivered within 7 days total'. Maybe I've just been really lucky.

Is it possible to contact customs and ask them if they've had/got my parcel(s)? Or would they have no idea? Cheers.

Edit: Oh yeah - if I've got a tracking no. from the US end of things, are things normally continued to be tracked once they arrives over in the UK? The USPS website doesn't have anything for mine after 7th March. Put the number into the Royal Mail track and trace but there's no record...

just a thought, try putting the tracking number into the parcelforce website it could have gone to them and be waiting a customs charge payment

Just tried it.

Apparently:
"Parcelforce Worldwide parcel tracking reference numbers are either 9, 13 or 14 characters with no spaces. Please check and re-enter."

My tracking number has 13 characters and I input it with no spaces....
