Hello all,
I'm very concerned because i'm sued to shipping astronomy gear to the UK and this has never happened to me before. I shipped a very expiensive ATIK CCD astronomy camera to a friend in the UK and according to the Portuguese Postal service tracking page, it has landed in Langley on December 10. And since then, nothing!!!
II've already filed a claim with the Portuguese Postal service but haven't heard from them yet. To make things worse, although I shipped the package with Personal acceptance and Signed For Only by Receiver, Royal Mail is the only mail service in Europe that doesn' accpet insurance protocols with Portugal. So I wasn't able to send the camera insured. And I send astronomy gear insured to all countries in Europe.
At this point I'm quite worried and so is my friend in the UK. It has become clear to me that Royal Mail is one of the unsafest and less reliable mail services in Europe, fo nothing of this sort has ever happened to me with hundreds of shippings all over the world..

I am the intended recipient of this camera and am very concerned of its whereabouts. Is there a telephone number for the Langley HWDC where we can inquire directly? I have found that the Royal Mail Customer Service does not seem to be able to give any useful answers.

they seem to be a lot better than customer services and you will recieve help in real time as well
if you do not have a twitter account it only take a few minutes to set up.
