Y’know I never thought I’d ever have a problem with royal mail , I live in the town of drumchapel in Glasgow , we used to have this really great post man …I mean real salt of the earth , his name was john and I always made a point of passing him a few quid in a card every Xmas , you have no idea how badly I miss him …
Dear god those where the good ol days ….
Look I’m gonna be straight with you , I “depend” on the mail service , I don’t keep in good health and I’m a full time carer , I look after and elderly and infirm 71 year old and we both depend on the mail service , we cant get out and about much so we buy a lot of things online .
Now this never used to be a problem , but for the last 18 months or so , things have just gotten completely out of hand , we have a big problem with packages and letters going missing and being delivered to completely different addresses .
Now you might think …aha…didn’t use the correct address , I always use my complete and full address , always have , always will , but for some reason , I still get other peoples mail and other people are getting my mail , I mean there’s just no reason for this …
I’ll be blunt here and say the postman just isn’t doing his job ,or worse , he cant read , 99% of all packages I receive can easily be posted through the door , yet on a number of occasions I’ve received one of those “ we tried to deliver a package “ cards … I’ve even opened the door to the guy and he’s handed me these cards , I’m talking about packages the size of a DVD case , between this and delivering things to completely different addresses …I’m at my wits end here .
I’ve already lost one package this month , and another package delivered to a completely different address , its only by sheer grace and luck that the person who the package was delivered to was kind enough to actually hand it in to me , that’s just not a common thing here , it’s a bad neighbourhood and most people wouldn’t think twice about keeping something for themselves .
I’ve written and complained about it a number of times , I’ve gone to the local dispatch office and complained , but its still happening , what can I do to make this right and get some semblance of a normal mail service again ? I mean its not like I can just stop using the mail service …
Anybody got any idea what I can do about this ?

Re: I could really use some advice here
can i ask how you have tried to resolve this?
If it is by contacting the local office, I agree you may think this best but I'm gonna tell you my suggestion and this is by experience
call RM customer service and ask them to request that your mail is monitored - explain all the reasons you have given here - I think the number is 0845 740 740 I will warn you it will take ages to get through but stick with it!
the reason i suggest this is my mum had a similar problem and me being a postie told her to ring the local office ( not mine) and nothing changed despite assurances to the contrary
BUT after she rang customer services the improvement was immediate and she no longer has a problem
the only reason I can give for this is if you ring the office and speak to someone then that's all you do and no-one is accountable if it does not improve - but if you go through customer services there is an official log that the office has to show has been dealt with - it's not right but it seems to be the way
make sure you ask for your mail to be monitored daily
I hope you get this sorted and get back to the good mail delivery you should have

Re: I could really use some advice here
I’ve e-mailed customer services a few times , I’ve called the local dispatch office , I’ve even gone to the dispatch office in person to see if I could get this resolved , but even there the chap I spoke to couldn’t understand it or why it was happening
But thank you …may your camels spit nothing but dates
…or something to that effect , I’ll do that first thing in the morning , again thank you !
