Hello everyone.
My friend from UK has sent me a bottle of very expensive whisky (about £400), but the parcel was empty, when it reached my country (our local post says, that there were 2 empty packages and 14 missing in this batch and it is a usual thing with RM). The parcel was sent via Royal Mail special delivery. The price of the bottle was not mentioned, but there was an insurance made for £500 (insurance cost was 3 pounds). We don't know what to do and how to act, as we are not experienced in such cases, especially with Royal Mail. Do we have any chance of getting our money back? Will we need to confirm the price of the bottle somehow or will they refund the insurance cost of £500? And how long does it usually takes?
We appreciate if you share your opinions and experience with us!

That's bull s**t,sorry for the language.our local post says, that there were 2 empty packages and 14 missing in this batch and it is a usual thing with RM
This is a tough one,i guess it's insured over here so i guess a claim should be from here.
Your friend i think needs to go through the motions here...

I think also you should also start a process your end as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

IF what you say is true, then it would be up to the sender to contact customer services with regards to this. This is where the contract is made, between the sender and Royal mail.

as far as I am aware RM special Delivery can only be sent within the UK
if it is another country then another international service would need to be used
Send your urgent or valuable item by Special Delivery™ 9.00am and we'll guarantee delivery by 9.00 am the next working day across the UK*
so if you are not within the UK special delivery cannot have been used

I also find the accusation by your local post hard to believe too. But if there is any truth in it, then I suggest you tell them to contact securityhelpdesk@royalmail.com. So an investigation can be started, ASAP.POSTMAN wrote:That's bull s**t,sorry for the language.our local post says, that there were 2 empty packages and 14 missing in this batch and it is a usual thing with RM
