2 very delayed items

Post by alcockell »

Hi folks,

Could some shed some light on the following two?

I have an order from Amazon that I'm waiting on - it's been tracked as far as
"Gourock Inverclyde
Order has been handed over to the carrier and is in transit - Dec 05, 2010 2:38:30 PM"

Is this a collection centre, sorting centre.. or what? From what I gather.. it's north of Glasgow... but it doesn't seem to have got anywhere else...
Where's the next point it needs to go to.. and how long will it be before I see this package?

Also - I am waiting for a refund cheque from BT - raised on the 4th December. From what I gather, this would have been sent from Durham... so where would it have got to?

Light shed would be appreciated.

I don't mean to be rude but have you had your TV turned off lately? Scotland & the NE have been hammered with snow :cuppa
Is the Amazon packet being sent with Royal Mail or a courier?
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Amazon packet's with RM - as is the BT correspondence I'm waiting on...

Out of interest - re post from Durham - what route and sites *would* that pass through before getting down to Reading?

Amazon - I gather that Gourock would be the local post office - aka delivery office? Where would its next hop be?

Not exactly...it's Amazon's "Fulfilment Centre"...
Amazon in the UK
Gourock, Inverclyde, Scotland
Our Gourock Fulfilment Centre is located on the River Clyde benefiting from impressive views of the Firth of Clyde and the surrounding Argyll Hills. Gourock is 40 minutes from Glasgow International Airport and 1 hour from Prestwick Airport. Gourock is linked to Glasgow by the M8 motorway, and has a direct train service to Glasgow Central Station, allowing easy travel throughout the UK.
It wouldn't go near a post office or delivery office in Gourock.

Ahhh... so it's gone from one part of Amazon's complex to another part... and is probably sitting in a bag in a container... waiting for The Thaw...

Oh well... looks like I might see it sometime in May...

Re Durham....?
