Completely wrong postcode on order

Post by nickmiller81 »

Hi

i ordered a book from a small independant shop and realised i requested the gift to be sent to completely the wrong post code. I got my home post code and work post code mixed up when typing the order. The correct post code was BS1 but i sent it to BS15, will this be returned to sender (if they put a label on it) and how long will it take? if they did not put a label is there anyway of trackign it down?

Any help would be great as its an xmas present and means a lot that i get it

Thanks

Nick

If the rest of the address is correct it SHOULD still reach it's destination although it may be delayed slightly.
It's unlikely even a small independent bookseller would send anything without a return address.
Timescales....that's a tough one at this time of year with the weather conditions..... :nervous

At this time of year it would be a waste of time. Most average DOs will have literally thousands of packets of various sizes and types of tracking systems (most with none). If your address has the district on it as well as the town/city then there is an excellent chance that the BS15 DO will forward it to the BS1 office straight away, maybe even at the Mail Centre.

No need to panic mate, as long as the rest of the address is clear and legible it will be forwarded on to BS1.
But as fishtank points out, at this time of year it's going to get delayed, but should still get to you in plenty of time :cool

Half the people don't put postcodes on stuff anyway mate, it's just helps if there is any doubt over the rest of the address but as the others have said if the address is fine you will still get it at that address.

TBH No as once it gets to your local office then everything will be fine - I would leave it as it is a trust to providence.
