Special Delivery from Scotland > Midlands Delay

I am hoping there is someone in here, either in the same boat or someone who works for royal mail that can help me.

I m Having an item sent at the start of this week, from fife in scotland to Nottingham, so I have waited until today. Checked on thier website and phoned thier customer services and there is no movement. I contacted the post office, and it left on Tuesday night, So what I dont understand is why has it not been scanned!

Royal mail said that every step of the way, it should get tracked, the only thing I can think of is the backlog is that big, its been sat in some pile for a few days now, however specials have never been this bad. I feel so sick to the stomach now, as I am afriad its going to get lost, and I m worried its not getting scanned properly.

I doubt its moved far enough to be tracked at the moment. I know the weather in the Fife area & Nottinghamshire is horrendous at the moment, hopefully todays slight thaw might get it moving. All I can suggest you do is keep tracking it online.

I long as the tracking is updated and I can be sure its moving I m happy. I didnt mean to come across as being impatient. It was posted on tueday, the postoffice in KY15 confirmed it has left, so it should be at a sorting office. What sort of backlog can I expect, and can I expect it to register on the track and trace web site. I know its only been almost 3 days, but I thought specials were been given proroity?

Specials are given priority, but unfortunately there is very little movement at all in the mail atm. Fife was particularly hard hit, along with every stop on the way to nottingham, who were also hard hit.
