I am planning on ordering an Xmas present which will be sent by Special Delivery, however, I may need to go offshore before it gets delivered, if this happens, and it gets sent to my Local sorting office, would someone else be able to collect it on my behalf?
Would my fiancee be able to collect it for me, bearing in mind that we don't yet share the same Surname, but we do share the same address, which is shown on our identification (UK Driving Licences).
I would be able to give her a photocopy of my driving licence if this would help matters?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Can someone else collect my Special Delivery?
Yes as long as they have some ID proving who they are and who you are - in other words they will to take ID for you so they can match it to the special delivery. The "Sorry you were out" card does explain it on the reverse.StuMcBill wrote:I am planning on ordering an Xmas present which will be sent by Special Delivery, however, I may need to go offshore before it gets delivered, if this happens, and it gets sent to my Local sorting office, would someone else be able to collect it on my behalf?

Edit: Not sure if a photocopy of a Driving licence is enough though. The exact wording on the card is:
"You'll need to bring this card and evidence of your identity such as a passport or bank card. If someone's collecting on your behalf they'll need to provide proof of your identity"

Thanks for the quick reply, would a photocopy of my driving licence be ok? Or a photocopy of my passport?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Yes as long as they have some ID proving who they are and who you are - in other words they will to take ID for you so they can match it to the special delivery. When I worked in the Callers Office I would'nt accept photocopies. Do you have a medical card? They are accepted.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

If you don't need your passport to go offshore, that would be fine.
Photocopies are not accepted, as they could be doctored, or someone might have access to your ID and photocopy it without your knowledge or consent.
