Warning: Postal scam

Christmas is not far away now and there are a lot of people who try to take advantage of others at this time of year.

The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

I`ve noticed scam cards like this in the past. Best thing to do is bin them instead of delivering them to my beloved customers. Or it might be safer to endorse it with " this is a scam, bin it" and then deliver it.

It has resurfaced this year. albeit in a different format

http://www.computeractive.co.uk/compute ... arts-again

It also exists in the form of receiving an email advising you have a parcel which was unable to be delivered via UPS/DHL/insert as appropriate courier company, and asking you to ring a number.... :no no
