Your probably better calling customer care on 08457 740 740 or you can tweet them http://twitter.com/royalmail" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

However they will need to know when it was sent - what service was it 1st or 2nd Class or other.

make sure you have details of where is was coming from was it Portugal?

overseas items cannot be tracked using Royal Mail tracking system

you would probably be best logging onto the website for the Portuguese postal service and trying to track it from their end
