Letter delivered when using mail collect - "UK Mail"?

My mail collect service should have been started today but I received a letter. On examining the letter it appears it was sent via a company called "UK mail". I am assuming they are also delivered by the Royal Mail postie? Is this one that slipped the net? Should I expect to receive such letters via mail collect in future, or on my doormat?

Depending on where you live everything is delivered by RM. Could be the call & collect card has not arrived at your delivery office yet. Have you been to collect any mail & if so, did you actually have any? If you did then we know the card has turned up & it will be down to a different reason.

Today (21st) another item of mail was delivered to the address (using the exact same name and address details provided for Mail Collect), definitely by Royal Mail, rather than held at the delivery office. Went to delivery office and they said they had no mail. Does it take longer to kick in than the start date stated on the letter perhaps?

Will see what happens over the next few days and if more comes contact the mail collect people.

With all the cutbacks and different people doing different duties everyday then there are bound to be mistakes, just remember that this is the modernised service that the government are saying that will improve things........................for those few profit mongers but not the gereral public

In that case when you next go to the Callers Office take your letter stating start date and the card and advise them its not happening. They will likely ask to photocopy them and then advise the delivery postman of the new situation.

Its possible that the paperwork needed to inform the Postie concerned may be stuck in an IN tray somewhere. Its not unheard of with all the cut backs over the last few years that Managers have to do delivery work rather than managerial and that has an impact on the backroom processes. It shouldn't but it does.
