Hi all, please don't take this the wrong way but....
If your mob were to lose my parcel (massive5.5kg box) (obviously stolen) then at what stage of progression would the item most likely to have been 'misplaced'?
This is not a direct snipe at any of you, I am just curious as to know what stage of delivery that my big parcel was lost. (that cost me over £400 and caused me so much stress)
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Hi all, please don't take this the wrong way but....
Kiss, kick, kiss. You should never say "but" when you're saying something as it completely negates everything you've just said.
So, now that we've all (the mob) taken it the wrong way, we'll ask some serious questions.
Did you send it Special Delivery (SD)? Given the value of the item, I'm assuming you weren't stupid enough not to?
If you did, then it would be tracked from posting to delivery so if it went missing, you'd know exactly at which point it was "stolen" as you claim.
If you were stupid enough not to send something of that value SD, then how on Earth do you expect to know at what point in the long postal process it was "stolen"?! Perhaps the Post Office nicked it. Perhaps it was the collections driver. Perhaps it was the staff at the collecting Delivery Office (DO). Perhaps it was the driver taking the stuff from the DO to the Mail Centre (MC). Perhaps it was any number of staff working in the MC. Perhaps it was the driver taking it from the MC to the DO. Perhaps it was any number of staff working in the DO. Perhaps it was your Postal Delivery Officer.
Or, perhaps it was accidentally damaged in transit meaning the delivery address couldn't be read. In that case, I would then ask if you put a return address on the item?
If for some reason, it couldn't be returned to you, I would assume it would then go to Belfast (RLB) to be officially opened to find a return address. That can take a month or two due to the sheer volume of work they have with idiotic members of the public not putting proper addresses or return addresses on items.
Anyway, if it was sent SD, you have a clear case for compensation. If you didn't send it SD, then a call to Customer Services and ask them to get in touch with RLB would be a good place to start. Don't be surprised if they tell you exactly as I am about to, you should've sent it SD if it was worth so much.

Re: Which one of you....
Merged 2 threads and moved them into customers area.
However not a great 1st post and I am surprised that you have been given such good advice amongst the leg pulling. It was a bit like asking a Policeman for directions by winding down the window and saying "Oy, filth, where is the nearest pub".
Still I hope as people have said you had it sent special delivery as though the chances are extremely low that it was indeed stolen with 160,000 people working in RML 1 or 2 are likely to be light fingered just based on statistics and that why RM recommend SD for valuable items like a PS3.

Re: Which one of you....
Also, if you've already exhausted the checks via the Web (assuming you sent it Special Delivery), or via Customer Services. And you still think it's been stolen (rather than just lost). Then I suggest you either phone or Email Investigations Branch (IB), on: 0207 239 6655 or securityhelpdesk@royalmail.com .
IB have been in charge of protecting the security of the Mail, since before the Bow Street Runners (the forerunners of the Police) were formed. Or of course, you could go to the Police directly. But the advantage with IB, is that they specialise in investigating crimes involving the Mail. So they're very good at what they do.
Hopefully your items will turn up. Probably at the Returned Letters Branch, considering that they've been missing for a while now. But if they HAVE been stolen. IB will catch the thief. They may not be as fast as people might like. But they're very thorough, and don't give up.

Re: Which one of you....
Considering all possibilities, can you be certain that the parcel was actually sent ?
Just as there are some dishonest people who claim not to have received an item when they did just to get a second one sent to tham free, so too there are a few disreputable traders etc. who claim to have sent something when they have not. Ask the sender to give you a copy of the certificate of posting, whether it was Special Delivery, Recorded or just ordinary post, and if they don't you've probably got cause to become suspicious.

Re: Which one of you....
I have to remember that one...............but then most of the poilce know me by name.............I even have the usual room in the station"Oy, filth, where is the nearest pub".
Serious bit now - The packet was sent to him but he didn't say who was sending it (was it a big name retailer or some ebayer), he didn't say when it was sent, he didn't mention where it was coming from, no, all he did was blame us for stealing his PS3 without giving us all the details to try to help him.
PS. Why would Christmas be ruined, there's more than enough time to get something else between now and then
