Hello All,
Please can some help as I am confused as to what information I have received is correct? I brought an item from Ebay and the seller posted it on Monday 19th July, tracking number: BR235909415GB after a couple of days I contacted the seller and Royal Mail. After speaking with Royal Mail I emailed the seller what I was told:
"I have contacted Royal Mail again today and they have no record of the Parcel in their systems based on the tracking number you provided.  I asked them to check their Epod system and that also returned no information.  Royal Mail advised me that they have no record of the parcel travelling through their system and that I should contact you and request that you contact them to request a P? Form. Please advise when you have done so.". The sellers response was as follows: "Hi I don't understand why they are saying this. We've been in touch with them today and they have me that the parcel is registered but is showing as out for delivery and that even though it has first class recorded it should take 2-3 days but could take upto 15. They said if the parcel was not delivered to yourself by the 6 th august the only thing I can do is make a claim on them. I'm sorry for the delay it's very frustrating, everything I sent out that day is fine and I haven't had anything go missing before. The only thing I can say is to hold on and see if it turns up. If it doesn't I will give a full refund but I hope it doesn't get that far".
Please can someone help or offer advise, has the package been lost or do I still have a chance of receiving it?? Thankyou to anyone in advance if you can help.

That code is for a recorded item so the seller has been given duff gen. With recorded items they are only scanned in after delivery and there is no way they are scanned as "out for delivery"

The 15 days part is how long senders have to wait before RM officially recognise it as missing and then start the claims procedure.

Yes you do have a chance of receiving it, a fairly slim one, but it is possible as with all things that something has gone wrong and it has been delayed. Might be worth checking the callers office, without a "While you were out" form they can't hand it to you but they can arrange a redelivery.

It may also be worth double checking the details you gave to the seller, and double checking the address the seller sent it to. Only yesterday I had one recorded delivery for an address that was one digit out. The address it was going to is boarded up so I checked with the person I thought it should go to and they confirmed it was theirs. They knew the senders details.
