REPLYING TO POSTS IN CUSTOMERS FORUM

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Will members read and comply with this announcement - its the 3rd time I have posted it and yet people are still using expletives and calling members who are customers of Royal Mail "Idiots".

All members must be aware of the fact that we now have journalists trawling the site and picking and choosing posts that match their agenda. As an example we have been quoted twice in the Daily Telegraph.

Because of this we are asking members not to use expletives in their posts as it will no doubt be ,and indeed has been used, to attack Postal Workers in Media stories.

Also we would ask members to self edit their own posts by this I mean before you press the SUBMIT button just read your message and see how it could be perceived or used out of context to try and weaken our position or affect public opinion of our strikes.

For instance 1 post said:

"Mandelson, that twit he can go f**k himself". - would if not be better to say "Mandelson, I don't trust him at all, he seems very shifty to me he ought not to be in Parliament" --- Both mean the same thing but one is abusive and shows us in a bad light - the other is a formed and polite opinion of a public figure.

We are not asking you not to post your truly held and honest opinions, just to tone down the expletives and present your positions in a concise and friendly manner as possible.

I and other moderators will now delete posts without telling members in the Customers forum if they continue to breach the rules or the spirit of this post.

Thanks for reading now lets get the picket lines ready. :Very Happy
