Broken hearted

Post by skin »

I have 2 nieces and a nephew, the youngest is 3 and had her birthday today, you know how many cards she received for her Birthday?, none, know how many people posted her cards, presents and parcels?....many.
This is just a long shot but just in case the workers striking EVER believe they have the public's support then perhaps they can send a rep around to the little 3 year old girl sobbing her heart out next door and explain to her WHY.
You have jobs, in the worst economic climate in living memory, do your jobs, because this is the biggest own goal i have ever heard of.
You are holding the mail to ransom, and the vast percentage of the UK public considers you...well i cant use the word here.

When did they post the said cards/parcels,i'm guessing they know there is a strike on and would of posted them early.
What area are they from.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We have nieces, nephews, sons, daughters and many other family members who cry and worry about us when they see the state we return home in - cold, wet, tired, bullied and harried to within an inch of insanity and depression by a company management structure that is hell bent on returning our working conditions to the dark ages and our aching bodies to the scrap heap of medically required retirement. They will also be reduced to tears when we are told that we no longer have a full time job and can't afford the things they need because our business needs to economise to make money for the government to waste elsewhere - not because it will provide a better service for our customers (who, by the way are not your young relatives, but the large free spending advertisers that send out all the junk you never care to look at ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... omers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

This is a minor inconvenience that will be cured by a bar of chocolate - we will carry the scars of this situation well into the future if we do not make a stand against a machine gone mad.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

And if he's not management, we have to see this fight out to the end, so that the tears of that little three year old, were not cried in vain

This is a customer forum so ANY insensitive posts will be removed and if it breaks the rules the Member will be "Warned" officially.

We are all aware of the impact strikes can have and sometimes we have to face the backlash and here it is. Please be careful in how you say what you want to say, don't break any rules and keep the comments constructive and polite and we will all be happy.

perhaps they can send a rep around
This turn of phraze leads me to suspect that this may be a managers post designed to wind up people / get noticed by journalists who might be reading this forum

I doubt that a member of the public would have worded it in such a way :hmmmm

Spot on. If I could tell you what I went through today it would be make a weaker man cry as well. I cant tell though, I'll be identified and tomorrow will be an even worse day of bullying and harrasement for me just for posting here.

Sorry all, but most customers do not have a clue about what goes on behind Royal Mail's closed doors. If you could see it you WOULD support us, believe me!

You may be right - however we should give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise.

Also TBH even if he is manager he is still entitled to air his views. Its a pity that Senior Management don't listen to ours , perhaps we would not be in this situation if they did. So lets take the high ground when we have posts like this as I like to think that all of us Posties have the capacity to see both sides of the argument.

It could be the case that the poor little girl's mail was not delivered, because, a Royal Mail manager decided it was more efficient to save money by not covering the sorting & delivery required. It has happened on many occasions.

I have also found my customers to be very supportive of our stance in fighting to protect a decent standard of service for them.

IMO not even remotely believable.
a three year old, crying because she hasn't got loads of cards and presents.
a three year old wouldn't know any difference.its not like an 8 year old who can recall that for the last 5 years they've had loads of stuff thought the post.
i take it mum and dad and the aunt's and uncles who are "supposed" to have written this, have handed over pressies and cards in person.
we are supposed to believe that this 3 year old is balling its eyes out cos it wants more.
come off it.if it was real and my three year old behaved like that id take away everything
:evil/mad pathetic attempt at spin and lies by royal mail managers or gutter press columnists

The three year old may not get any post in the future if Royal mail disappears.Couriers will not bother sorting and delivering cards for the price we do it.
Just a thought.

The only people to blame for the situation is the royal mail higher managment, not the postmen. The public do not see the way we get treated and do not understand the real reasons why we are persuing industrial action
