How long does it take to get a refund for missing postage?

Post by cichlid crazy »

I'm a seller on ebay and have had over 1000 successful transactions buying & selling. I sent an item via 1st class recorded signed for on 15th November, 2006 and it went missing, I sent in my P58 claim via my local PO and then sent a print out of the ebay auction page as requested by RM's customer services. I had to send another duplicate item to my buyer and I'm still waiting for my refund. The tracking number is: DH 3340 1926 0GB How long does it take to get a refund for missing postage?

Hi,it's usually about 5 weeks from when you send your claim form off.
Phone customer service on 08457 740 740 with your tracking number and they should be able to tell you how it's getting on.
There's probably a delay due to xmas and the like.

Thanks, I phoned them and apparently they're waiting for a letter from the person who bought the original item, is this normal practice?
I'd have thought that the fact that the item was still missing and recorded as lost and they have a print out of all the ebay details would be enough, obviously not!!!!!!!! :mad

Not sure how it works,i'm trying to get some of the customer service people on here.
But i'm presuming they want a 100% answer from your buyer that it definitely has not arrived.
Protocol i presume.
