I have two Ebay items both sent by Tracked 24. They arrive at my local Delivery Office this morning at 9:40 am and were flagged as "due for delivery today". The serice here has been poor lately with deliveries as late as 2pm or more. But it seems unlikely these two will arrive today. It makes a joke of paying for 24 hour delivery - the cross from the noprth of England to a delivery office about 30 minutes drive from me no problem and now haven't turned up.
I guess I will have to call the useless customer services tomorrow for all the good that will do.
Is is possible they simply missed today's delivery van and will arrive tomorrow? One is quite bulky so I can;t see it would go astray easily, and it seems less likely that both would. They are quite separate and from different places.
Honestly, I hate to say it, but Evri's tracking is better than RM. If this happens at Evri they flag it up as a late delivery and say they will deliver next day instead.
RM it just sits there. I had a Special Delivery item where the trackign failed in the summer, and it;s never updated. Plus Evri you have live chat, Royal Mail just keep you on the phone racking up huge bills in the queue.

Our parcel drivers are out until 7pm.
If the climate was a bank, they would already have saved it.

I thought that was only rural - that it stopped at 4:30pm for most places. In any case, I have never ever had anything later than 2:30pm...
Does it ever happen that items just miss being put out on the deliver van for that day? The DO here shuts at 10pam and the "arrived at DO" is marked at 9:45am.

Even still, parcels can be delivered well past half 4.
The 10am closing time will just be the customer service point. Your postie may have only been in the building 20 minutes when that closes.
And yes it is possible the parcels went on the wrong van, left in a bag at the depot, buried under other parcels 8n the van, delivered to the wrong place, stolen, confiscated by ICE, dumped in the Pacific ocean, etc.

There was an RM van in my street delivering at 7.30 last Saturday night.
