Track second class letter origin
This is a long shot. But is there a way to track the area where a second class letter came from? There is a postmark with a date, time and a 10 digit number - does this number give a branch code or what does this relate to?

Re: Track second class letter origin
The answer is probably not. But it would depend on what the envelope is carrying for payment (a stamp, branch printed posted label, postage paid impression etc) and if a stamp, does it carry a barcode? And is there any other kind of barcode on it?

Re: Track second class letter origin
So there is just a second class stamp for payment. There is a black postmark then over the top, stating “Royal Mail Northern Ireland Mailing Centre” with a date/time and a number underneath. I had contacted Royal Mail and they said this would relate to a branch code for a post office but can’t disclose the info due to data protection.Snaggletooth wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 20:09The answer is probably not.
