Item retention when I selected collection point?

Post by satellite1 »

Hi,

I had an item due for delivery today. I knew I wasn't going to be until later in the day and the postman comes early so I changed it to a collection point which is a local post office.

This morning I got an email saying that I had requested to not deliver to my address that day which makes sense. But the tracking says now that it is being retained at my local delivery office, does that mean it won't be delivered until tomorrow? And will they try to deliver it to my house in that case. I'm back now so maybe I should update the tracking so it can be delivered to my house again?

Can anyone help please - ideally it can be delivered to the post office and I can collect it today not sure if this is possible now it says item retained, but if not I want it delivered to my house tomorrow, what should I do?

Thanks all.

Here is the tracking number:

It's just possible that when your item was scanned earlier this morning, the wrong option on the scanner was chosen, giving you the message that you received. It could still be delivered to your local Post Office.

However, it's also possible that when your item was scanned, the person with the scanner didn't go through and read all of the information that you updated, meaning it's been left behind at the delivery office.

I would give it until about 2:30-3:00 to see if anything changes.
