Tracking reference number SE275409355GB
I sent a package Royal Mail Special Delivery expecting it to be delivered to the recipients address the next working day before 1pm. I had the tracking update on my phone showing as delivered and signed for at North West Midlands Mail Cemtre at 6am this morning.
It was an Employment Support Allowance form with medical evidence so sensitive information about myself which is why I sent it this way. I sealed it in the freepost envelope I got with the form and put it inside another envelope with the same address except the freepost details. I bought a Royal Mail postage label for Special Delivery through the app so I have the email with the QR code that I purchased, a receipt from where and when I sent it and I took copies of the form before sending.
Is it supposed to be checked and sent on to Wolverhampton from the North West Midlands Mail Centre? The exact address that was on the freepost envelope, I wrote on my envelope and bought the label for is London BSC ESA, Mail Handling Site A, Wolverhampton, WV98 2HL.
Have I done anything wrong here? Should I be contacting North West Midlands Mail centre regarding this? I've been freaking it since it's important information that needs to get there and I don't know what to do from here.
Someone please help.

Re: Package sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery showing as 'Delivered and signed' at North West Midlands Mail Centre
Royal Mail have to deliver to the address on the package, except where there is an official redirection in place, this is a legal requirement. The address that you used is effectively a PO Box in Wolverhampton. Mail Centres usually have such facilities and it was delivered to the MC in Wolverhampton. So I can't see any problem here?lavenderemedy wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024, 21:14I sent a package Royal Mail Special Delivery expecting it to be delivered to the recipients address the next working day before 1pm... the exact address that was on the freepost envelope, I wrote on my envelope and bought the label for is London BSC ESA, Mail Handling Site A, Wolverhampton, WV98 2HL.

Re: Package sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery showing as 'Delivered and signed' at North West Midlands Mail Centre
It wasn't something I was expecting, I was expecting it to go to the address the next day as I haven't sent a form like this before. I did some reasearch online into this and a lot of people weren't expecting it either. So there probably isn't a problem and I'm worrying too much, but when you send a form along with sensitive information, you want it to get to the right place and I don't believe I'm in the wrong for worrying.Snaggletooth wrote: ↑06 Dec 2024, 06:34Royal Mail have to deliver to the address on the package, except where there is an official redirection in place, this is a legal requirement.
