Guaranteed next day not received

I paid for a guaranteed next day by 1 to go from north east of england to be sent to essex.not only did i not receive it,theres no message on tracķ and trace to say why,i got no call to say theres a pŕoblèm.no service update other than we are having issues.i think its disgusting that the po takè youŕ money and say all is well when it clearly isnt.bad business.

A few things - you posted this in the wrong section, so I moved it.

We are an independent site, and we are not an official Royal Mail or Post Office site, so if you have issues with them, it's better to address them directly.
We can't offer solutions on RoyalMailChat we can only offer insights and advice.

This leads me to the next issue, without more details, we can't even offer advice. It's better to provide the tracking number (especially if there is no tracking) or all the tracking output when it is tracking.

You posted this on Friday - a public holiday in the UK (except for most of Scotland), and therefore it wouldn't be delivered on that day. If sent on Thursday, the next working day is Tuesday, though it may be delivered on Saturday.

Also, Royal Mail won't call you if there is an issue; why? Because they can't, they don't have your phone number, and there is no way to connect phone numbers to individual parcels.

Firstly,thank you for moving my post to the correct place and im sorry i really didnt realise this isnt the right site.
Beleive me iv tried everything you have kindly suggested.the parcel was sent on wednesday morning to be guaranteed for thurs by 1...or 4.i cant work it out.
But my sister specifically asked if she paid the "alot more money" for special delivery because they assured her there are no problems and of course it would reach south by the next day.
The track and trace either isnt working,or my parcel is lost or missing.the total opposite the track and trace guaranteed "special" delivery is for!.
I totally appreciate problems happen and due to covid your job is stressfull enough, but the most annoying and frustrating part of it all is the lack of information on the online track and trace app.as far as i can tell it left the north and the parcel,van,driver, totally disappeared!

Tracking shows it left Tyneside Mail Centre on Wednesday night, as you say normally it would be delivered Thursday.

However on Wednesday night Thursday morning there were delays in mail from the North East to the South East and London area caused by a death on the rail system, it may have been involved in that or at least impacted by the delays caused by it.

Last night the locomotive travelling from our Newcastle Mail Centre to London's Princess Royal Distribution Centre was held at Chester Le Street following a fatality on the line, and a subsequent investigation by the British Transport Police. The train will be returned to Newcastle later this morning and all mail will be unloaded and mail sent on via the road network for onward distribution. As a result, some mail posted in the North East of England yesterday for delivery today in parts of London and South East England will be delayed.

If that is the cause of the delay it should hopefully turn up Tuesday, however, your sister will be able to claim for postage refund at least, and extra costs if the extra insurance was purchased and "evidence" provided.

Oh my goodness.
Now i feel terrible.someone has actually lost thier life
Makes my parcel so insignificant.
I dont know where you found that information but thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to let me know.
Im so sorry for anyone affected by this .
There really should be somewhere for the layperson to find out things like this without having to bother other people like yourself.
