NOTTINGHAM DO

Post by Business15 »

I have sent 2 1st Class parcels to addresses in Nottingham and both of them are lost, i had to resend the customers 2 free items.

I think NOTTINGHAM DO needs to be looked at, all parcels are either LOST or LATE that i have sent there recently.

Depending on what time it was posted on Monday it would have been either Tuesday or Wednesday it was due for delivery so it's either 1 or at most 2 days late not 3 however it's clear in the terms that this is an aim not a guarantee.

We are at the moment still operating under covid restrictions so obviously that puts limitations on our staffing options and it may be nothing to do with Nottingham DO, they may not even have the parcel yet.

What about Lanarkshire near Glasgow, now the parcel is 5 days late with Royal Mail 24!

The customer wants her money back £20. As a small business i simply cannot afford to keep losing parcels!

Update for Nottingham, it has not been delivered!

Also another parcel today i had a message from a customer saying thanks for the fast delivery in Hertfordshire it arrived next day BUT THIS WAS ALSO not scanned on delivery as delivered! If she was not an honest customer i would havbe lost another £30!

What has happened to Royal Mail seriously??? Every other company i send with has no issues. RM has a serious issue of non scanning on delivery of parcels lately!

I used to use Royal Mail for every single parcel, but since they dont answer complaints, compensation claims or emails i am slowly being forced to use other companys.

To be frank, as we are not an official Royal Mail site you are unlikely to get any meaningful solution from us. For Royal Mail to address the situation you need to talk to your business manager at Royal Mail.

I don’t work at Nottingham, but lately we have been finding a lot of packets left in the bottom of York sleeves - sometimes by the DOs, sometimes by MCs. It’s not hard to check the corners of the sleeve for any small items, or double check that what appears to be a bit of rubbish or an old York label isn’t a letter or small packet, but no-one seems to be reminding staff to do this! In these cases the item will probably be found eventually, but not before it’s made a few trips around the area or even country!

They shouldn't need reminding to be honest. But our Feeding MC seem to use our Sleeves as rubbish bins, it does make it easier to miss smaller items if the shroud is full of chocolate wraps, used coffee cups etc, it's not pleasant having to grope through it to make sure, and it's not very sanitary especially during COVID.

Won't necessarily be them, could potentially be any DO or MC anywhere. Sleeves don't get removed from yorks and folded normally. They get reused, so once the sleeve has had the mail removed for sorting, it then gets used for mail being dispatched to another MC direct, another MC via the RDCs or to a DO

The Shaggy excuse.
It wasn't me.
There's still culpability there, they shouldn't be throwing parcels into Yorks full of crap whether it's their crap or not or are we going to use the "we don't have time" excuse next because that's just as lame in processing as it is in delivery.

No time allowed for it anymore. By the time the sleeve is empty there's another couple waiting to be emptied. If it's being emptied or filled by a PSM then it won't even be looked in most likely

It's time that we don't have. As soon as a sleeve is emptied, it goes straight to the storage area as the next sleeve to be tipped is already waiting. We can't hang around as often our warehouse is full. We need the space for the artics to unload. Sometimes the sleeves will be used straight away to swap out with full ones that will be going to the bays

Well lucky you having the time, our dispatches always goto the wire. We need to have the sleeves out of the way the moment the last packet is taken out of them, to get the next sleeve in, to free up space in our warehouse. Larger MCs work differently from smaller MCs

If a MC has a PSM then you don't get anyone emptying it. It just gets placed into the unloader on the machine which tips it upside down emptying the contents onto the infeed belt. Eventually all MCs (afaik) will have a PSM

EDIT: Found this via Google:
Looking at the left-hand photo that's completely different to how we process packets.
