Hmm... another new postman that I've never seen before (I make that 4 different ones in six weeks) and back to delivery at 1.45pm. When does the summer slowdown thing end and we go back to the normal routine of postmen and ladies on bikes instead of van deliveries? Is it September?

Fed up of only having a couple of hours to read and deal with contracts now, to get them back out same-day.

I'm sorry to say that things may never be the same again.
There are major changes coming and none of them will bring much cheer to the customer.

Or the postmen/women.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Seriously? :cry What's the Royal Mail logic behind not having the capacity for delivering business mail earlier? We don't all live and work in a booming metropolis where everything's done online; a lot of the local villages near here don't even have broadband! We rely on the post!

In this kind of economic climate you'd think helping businesses to operate efficiently would be a priority. :arrrghhh

I'm afraid you answered that one yourself in your previous post.
You can use Timed Delivery if you want, call our Sales Team.
You can collect it yourself if you want, here's the web link.
Both of these solutions make Royal Mail money.
Delivering it to your business costs Royal Mail money...I'm afraid it's that simple.

:evil/mad So effectively holding businesses to ransom.

I just don't understand why they can't leave alone. It's a public service, profit should be secondary to that.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works. It's a business, there to make money. They'd be blasted for letting RM operate at a loss (again) and blasted for making money. I just wish they'd do something constructive with the money and perhaps employ more people instead of getting rid by any means necessary.

Pensions deficit, low morale, poor equipment and uniform... And that's just for starters.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
