The phone number on the back of our 739 cards is not our office number. It is a "customer service" number but the customers complain they can never get through. When we gave out the office number the DOM got very upset.

well i was all fired up to tell you to put a flee in his ear about being lazy.then i caught on.one delivery point per household.yours is down stair's.it isnt his job to seek you out.if it dont fit in your box he has to card you.he isnt obligated to leave it anywhere either ,safe or not.but he really should ring your buzzer to see if your in.

point that out to him.
ring my buzzer

Point of delivery is the tiny letterboxes, if you don't like it get your box removed and a proper letterbox fitted in your door

sorry thats nonsense
if a flat has a letterbox on the ground floor but the item is too large then you ring the buzzer for the customer to let you in or come down
if there are no buzzers then you put a card in the letterbox

It would depend on how well I knew the walk and how well I knew the person.Would I hand over a SD to someone I did not know without the mail crossing the threshold? No.Would I try to find a solution to the problem?Yes. All I was trying to point out was the rules and regulations we work under.People take a lot of the favours we do for granted. Sometimes the favours we do turn round and bite us in the backside.

if i had a SD i would expect to walk up to the door
anything that fits in the letterbox is fine but if its too large or requires a sig then i would expect to do that
when i lived in a property just like that the driver/postie did that

now i work in the same office the posties in those duties do the same
how can you expect more new builds to put letterboxes at the bottom(which is good for posites!)
if they get less service for it

If this was my regular walk I would do the same but it is not the correct procedure. As a floater I used to deliver to converted houses and the point of delivery was the letter box in the front door.If I had a SD for the attic flat or the sub basement either they had to come to the hallway or I would leave a card.I certainly was not about to walk up or down small winding staircases with no real idea of where I was going or what I would find. That isn't part of the job and it is not what we are insured to do.

A note on your box would be a start. Just write 'please buzz for packet delivery' or something like that. Unfortunately there are a few bad posties but most haven't been in the job long and don't last that long usually. Try a few times more with the guy but remember to be diplomatic it's could be he's being bullied by his manager to complete in time and is struggling to do so. Very common in this company.

If no luck forget the phone you'll never get through. Go to the delivery office (address on back of card) ask to speak to a manager and tell him you've tried but the guy wont listen. He should be trying harder I personally wouldn't dream of wasting time writing out a card when you can nip up the stairs and get rid of it. Why does he want to carry it round for the rest of the day?!?!?!?

oh my god..again its not his job...why are you sending a customer up to complain...it aint his job , end off.

if you wanna do it ,thats fine im not going to bitch(much) and moan.but its not what we are paid for.
please have some consideration for your fellow posties who just wanna come in,get bullied ,delivery by the book ,and go home late.
