Royal mail Swindon MC
Im the sender and a package of mine was going to Henley - the reciever changed delivery to pick up from local post office. For some reason it arrived Wednesday to post office and then went back to Swindon MC on thursday 2am and hasnt moved since. It is special 1pm service so was hoping it would arrive by now. What should be my next steps?

Can only think the PO made a mistake and put it back in the system. I'd contact RM Customer Services directly with the tracking number.
It should either get to the addressee (whether the local collect instruction will show again is questionable) or if you put a return address on the item it should get back to you.
