After the 6 months...
I start next month on a 6 month contract, when I went to visit the manager to get told I had the job he said if you work hard and pick it up quickly then they'll extend your contract, is this likely or just a ploy to make you work better since I'd really like to get a few years out this, if not a life time career. Also how much driving is involved, manager said it's something like every other day...? TIA

Re: After the 6 months...
Its a bit of both, people have been released after their contact, but most tend to be kept on for around 2 years and then made permanent - although that is by no means certain. I'll be honest I would say roughly 50% of people who start give up after a few weeks.anonymous1994 wrote:I start next month on a 6 month contract, when I went to visit the manager to get told I had the job he said if you work hard and pick it up quickly then they'll extend your contract, is this likely or just a ploy to make you work better since I'd really like to get a few years out this, if not a life time career.
Not much, even a dedicated driving duty going from firm to firm will only do a maximum of 50 miles a day at my office. I used to commute more than that. Most likely you'll drive only when you are paired up with a non-driver, and even then only when your driving has been assessed (in RM speak its called a changeover).anonymous1994 wrote:Also how much driving is involved, manager said it's something like every other day...?
