Soon to be newbie, notice advice please

Post by findingnemo53 »

Hi all, I was hoping for some advice about when exactly do I hand in my notice to my current job..
I have applied for a postwoman job & at the moment they are doing security checks. It says not to hand in my notice yet, which is ok.
But after reading a few forms here I notice people saying they have an induction day then pretty much that week or next day they start.
But I have to give 3weeks notice at my current job, was wanting to know when my checks come though is my induction day book 3weeks in advice then start or do I do an induction day then start 3weeks from that?
Soz if this seems like a silly question, but I've been in the same job for 9yrs sense school, so it all a bran new start for me :dance

I had my Induction then started @ my DO next day. When they send you your induction date explain your situation and I would of thought they would sort an alternative date out so you can serve your notice, have induction day then start work.
Good luck
