Newbie starting!
At long last, I finally have a start date.
I originally applied for a delivery with occasional driving job a couple of months back, however I ended up getting put on the waiting list. Luckily the vacancy opened up a few weeks ago, got I call from recruitment to offer me the position. After a few tender weeks of waiting to hear about background checks etc I recieved an email today inviting me to my Welcome Day.
Can't wait to get started!
What should I wear to the welcome day? Shirt & tie , shoes & smart trousers? Or smart casual? What should be expected during the Welcome Day?
Cheers!

Re: Newbie starting!
First of all, congratulations.
I too am a newbie and my Welcome Day email says to wear smart casual, for example jeans and trainers.
Hope this helps.

Re: Newbie starting!
Welcome another newbie here too!
My welcome day email states to wear comfy clothes, like jeans and trainers. I think we get to do some lifting etc so probably best to wear comfortable clothes.

Re: Newbie starting!
Yep, wear comfortable clothes that you won't mind getting dirty. Decent jeans and trainers will be fine. You will learn about the company and very little about the job.

Glad to hear that the induction was painless. Mine's on 28th (is yours Dandylion?) and I'm looking forward to it.
I got my contract on Friday and posted it back today.
Good luck for tomorrow, and to Paul.

Re: Newbie starting!
First day done and dusted!
Got tour of facilities with work coach, got introduced to managers / CWU rep etc, shown the sorting frames how to fill out missed item cards etc. Even got out with my work coach for some deliveries on foot!
I'll be working with another postie on another route for the rest of the week, then I'll be released to the wild to do my own rounds as from next week!

Fab!
Did you enjoy it?
The prospect of being on your own within a week is quite daunting isn't it?! Good luck!
