Bristol Induction Day

Post by kumabear »

Hello to all,i am attending my induction day in Bristol on the 30th of this month and just wondered if anyone could tell me what i can expect from the day.I was also wondering if there were any more new starters going up from Taunton by car that could give me a lift there and back in return for some fuel money. Many thanks.

It's pretty low key and nothing to worry about, we did an icebreaker exercise consisting of a quick 5 minute chat with the person you are sat next to and then you tell the rest of the room about them (marital status, kids, hobbies, previous employment etc etc) a short multiple choice quiz on Royal Mail. Watched some dvds, Learnt how the mail system works from posting through to delivery, hands on exercise how to safely pick up your pouch (mail bag) from the floor, unfolded a York trolley and pushed it around the carpark. Learnt about the importance of health & safety and mail security.

The induction is basically an introduction to RM, it doesn't prepare you for your first day in your delivery office though
Best of luck with the new job
