Passed interview and added to waitlist.

Post by joeyuk »

Hi guys just a few quick questions. I went for a interview 3 weeks ago, passed but didn't get the job. Have emailed as a role close to home come up. Got a email back the next day saying i would be put forward for the role. Today the website has come up with a new section saying job offer for the role i applied for, so im guessing i got the job and just need to pass backround checks.

The role i'm after is this one:

Part time, 20 hours per week (10.00am - 4.00pm 4 shifts across Monday to Sunday)successful candidates need to be flexible working in the week, there will be opportunities to work extra shifts in the week if required.

1st question is what is the break situation at royal mail, going by this will be work 10-4 across 4 days but only contacted to 20 hours. Is there an hour unpaid i have to take as from a quick look i can't find anything about this.

2nd question is the sunday, all the other roles i've seen have been Mon-Sat so just wanted to see what the sunday working is about. I've never had mail come on sunday but with christmas coming i guess it could be that.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
