Hi.
Went for an interview last week for a delivery post and I thought it went well. My brother has been an employee for 30 years and has put in a good word for me.We even had a chat about my brother after the interview. I felt gutted today when I had an email saying id passed the assessment but was unsucessful and had been put on the waiting list for 3 months. I actually felt confident about how the interview went but a friend who was recently employed by RM told me not to be too disheartened.
I was wondering if anyone has been through this experience or knows if I still stand a good chance (and not all doom and gloom)?

Re: Hi. New to the forum.Job Waiting list question!
The same thing also happened to me. I passed the interview & assessments but was then informed I was on a 3 month waiting list. I was gutted and thought that would be the last of it, but then I got a call out of the blue a week before Xmas and after 2 months of being on the list, asking me if I still wanted the job. Any way, I've been in the job 5 months and loving up. Good luck and don't give up hope.

Re: Hi. New to the forum.Job Waiting list question!
Hi,
I had the same experience a couple of months ago and thought that was the end of it. However i registered for job alerts and two weeks later another job was advertised and I applied for it. I received an email offering me the job conditionally (security checks etc) and actually started last week. Although the whole process is rather lengthy I think as long as you register for job alerts and keep scanning the RM jobs website you will be successful. good luck

Re: Hi. New to the forum.Job Waiting list question!
Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know if quite a few get on the waiting list. For example if 10 get interviewed for 2 positions then do the other 8 get on the waiting list or do they only pick maybe 1 or 2 who maybe missed out on the position? Im also moving home in a few weeks so will need to change my driving licence details over and address but if I do get the lucky phone call to start would they give me the opportunity to go down and submit all my new details/photo copies etc again as I had to in the interview?

Re: Hi. New to the forum.Job Waiting list question!
No the other 8 wont go on the waiting list, during the interview some will be found to be incapable of identifying a letter, unable to recognise a postcode and be totally unable to string a sentence together so will probably be candidates for a managers job.

Re: Hi. New to the forum.Job Waiting list question!
Am I allowed more than one submission of application whilst on the waiting list, for example if a job locally arises and I apply but don't get offered it for any reason then can I still apply again within the 3 months?
