Hi I start work in a month and received an email that said something about ordering a uniform but it says i cant do that until i start working so can someone please tell me what's going on. Do i start work first then the manager orders them for me or do I have to send off for it myself and have it delivered before i actually start so i can go to work in the uniform.
I started last week - when I rang up was told not able to order anything until I have started my 2nd 3 month contract - I thought I was entitled to basic but seems to change every week.
Interesting to see if you get it.
Good luck

You are entitled to PPE at a minimum, which you must have by law and some form of identification for security reasons.

I was given hi vid vest on 1st day as for ID - I ask every day and get same response from manager - I will sort it....
On Wednesday this week we had a manager from another office who challenged me - I told h my situation and asked if he could help speed the process -- he asked at the office - guess what.., still no ID BADGE !!
Pretty hopeless I really do worry about our future as an organisation if they can't even sort this out.
I think Union needs to know this as well, as part of the staff you need to wear an identifiable uniform, if there was an incident they would be liable as you are acting in the role of a postman and there is also the matter of insurance cover, are you fully covered if you are inadequately equipped especially footwear, I don't have it to hand, I think there was a mention of a minimum time when you should be issued with a uniform, still as long as you getting paid that more important.
