Hi all
I have an Induction Day this week and it says to wear jeans and trainers which is easy enough. It is a 3 month contract so it seems I won't get any uniform, so should I wear smart jeans and trainers and a similar top when I report to the delivery office for my first "actual" day? Would I be expected to wear something of the corporate RM colours, so a red shirt? Or is it ok to wear something suitable as long as it isn't branded/offensive etc.
Have to say that the recruitmet process left a massive amount to be desired (this is direct with RM) and it has taken over 2 months to get a 3 month job! But I got through it and I am in.

Re: First day - what to wear?
They frown on people wearing white trainers when they have uniform but as a new starter you'll be fine.
Dress as described by you, non offensive t-shirt smart jeans is fine.
However, take some water with you as you'll need to re-hydrate it is a physical job. A baseball hat, is also useful as it helps shade your eyes in sunlight and protects you from rain. Also a cagoule type jacket would be useful in case it rains.
If rain is forecast don't wear jeans though, unless you have waterproof over-trousers, as the denim soaks it up. Any light cotton based made trousers would be better.

Re: First day - what to wear?
Thanks for the quick reply and tips - how did you know that I have a pair of white trainers that I am trying to wear out!
I hadn't thought of that about jeans in the rain, the forecast is ok for this week but I am sure it will get me so I'd better look out for some more trousers soon.
