Christmas Casual recruitment process (glasgow)

Post by Seasonalworker »

I applied for Christmas temp in the sorting office in Glasgow in September.

I have passed all my checks and just waiting on recruitment coming back with available shifts. I have selected weekend only so I'm a bit worried there is no available shifts as it's been a week with no update in possible shifts available.

How long did it take from checks being complete to job offer?

Thanks :) 🎅

After going through the process last year at Glasgow MC, I wouldn’t hold my breath for weekend shifts. It was pretty much a case of Monday to Friday 22:00-06:00 with only a few weekends available. You are also expected to attended all shifts Monday to Friday. Also be aware that although you have passed the checks etc you might not actually start until quite late in December and the job effectively finishes in early January.Don’t think that you have a job for 12 weeks.Oh and breaks aren’t paid too you’ll only get 7 hours for 8 hours shift.
On the plus side if you can work all the shifts Monday to Friday the rates will mean that you have a pretty healthy wage packet (albeit only for a few weeks).

You have to be agency staff on the awr to get paid break times. Other than that the wage is quite generous this year.
