Same here doing 25hrs a week with a rotating day off, so I think you should get a fixed walk. Your walk should be prepared for you, the only think you should do is to sort your parcels, redirections, get rid off dead letters. Good luck!Loopylau89 wrote:I am also part time doing 25 hours a week over 5 days

Re: Starting as Postie next week: advice please
I've only been with RM for 4 months so still a newbie. I had my induction in Bristol as well and to be honest the job is nothing like what you learn at the induction which isn't a bad thing by the way as I love the job. When I first started I was on a round for about a month learning the ins and outs and now I've been on the same round for the past 10 weeks or so. It is a bit daunting at first and you're sort of left to your own devices and not told anything so don't be afraid to ask someone. Good luck I hope all goes well, let us know how you get on.

Im doing my induction tomorrow then first day at work on Thursday. I decided to go and visit the DO yesterday and introduce myself to the manager, broke the ice for me. I already know my walk and how long i'll be on it for plus he gave me a small tour. I feel really good about starting and that visit for me has basically halved my 'first day nerves'
