Slowly getting there, got a PDA logon now so I can deliver parcels / tracked but I've not scanned them in in the morning so my partner wants them doing on his PDA so it doesn't look like he hasn't delivered them, I think he likes his performance figures.

Just trying to sort a Robin / Workplace Logon now, another manager led task, so may be another week of constant badgering to get that.

Still clueless on what I'm working in 7 days time, I need to book stuff but cant because I don't know if I'm off, but by the time I get to know all the appointments will have gone. In 30 yrs of working I've never come across such a disorganised way of working.

Oh well, Monday is week 2, I've survived my first week to the surprise of a few of the other workers.
I had the same issues when I started regarding my days off, that was until the union rep noticed and questioned it with the manager and since then I know my days off three weeks in advance. Maybe have a word with the union rep at the DO?

Also if you do any sort of OT log it. Sign for it on the OT sheet and make a note of it somewhere like a note book or you mobile.

hi-viz & a posting peg is mandatory and should be the 1st items to get, a pda login should only take a day or 2 which you need to clock in/out until id badge arrives,
and you could ask to have a scrounge in the store room, we have loads of bits that may fit, some new some maybe worn once,
the pda training should be a priority to learn too, regardless of how we hate them they can greatly help you regarding doing the job correctly
2 main things to be wary of are managers & dogs, don't trust either breed

How does the unpaid breaks work? do you work 6 hours and only get paid 5 hrs 40? or do you have to work 20 mins over your 6 hours for free? no one has explained it, Im working with guys on the old contracts so they stop for 20 mins and i stop to.

You're supposed to provide 6 hours work as that's what you'll be paid so in theory if you stop for 20 with the person you're working with then they could say you have to do 20mins more work later, if it crops up later then so be it, I've read on here that some offices say their new contracts have to start 20mins early to compensate,it'll become apparent in due course like a lot of things in RM it varies office to office.

Well done the CWU for agreeing a 2 tier workforce :left:
This has caused no end of grief
Hopefully a no vote and those at the top will resign and let someone else represent us
They let this fiasco develop and expecting the new entrants to vote yes to keep their cushy jobs in tact on a promise they can't keep
I really fear the CWU could be dead within a year or 2 on the postal level

At my DO when our SPL duties were removed (8am - 2pm) and we were moved to (13.30 - 20.00) this included a forced 30 min break as we were being deducted 30 mins every day automatically, hence having to clock 6.5 hours on SISO.

Amazing but no surprise - 1st day on the job and the manager could not be bothered to show you around the building

Good luck
