Pay deduction for breaks.

Post by Failureisnotanoption »

We are on 40 mins break and 20 mins break for an 8 hour shift . But this has only happened since this court ruling and I am deducted half hour pay .before that in my nearly 4 years of Angard we used to get half hour break for an 8 shift and pay deducted so It has improved but Angard don’t play by any rules. AWR trained staff are ment to be on the same terms as a mail worker but that doesn’t suit the mail as Angard cover mail breaks most times so managers take the piss . My depot is ok but yours sounds like it not adhering to any rules and losing an hours pay seems harsh no 2 MCs the same it seems.

Pay deduction for breaks.

I work at two mail centres.

At one site, we have always got 40 minutes break while the RM staff get an hour. Normally 30 minutes is deducted, but sometimes the full 40 minutes is deducted depending on which manager does the time sheets.

At the other site, we used to get 40 minutes - this increased to 50 minutes (occasionally one hour), but for the last few months has been reduced to 30 minutes “because Angard have said that’s their rules”. The RM staff have always had one hour. 30 minutes is deducted regardless.

If RM staff receive 1 hour break in a 8 hour shift , then you are entitled to the same , regardless of Angards "Rules".

Try telling that to local RM managers! They just produce an email from Angard stating our break allowances, which states 30 mins for an 8-hour shift.
