Pay Rate Increased?

Have pay rates increased?

My hourly rate for last week appears to have risen by 4.34%.

Needless to say, no advise from Angard.

Should be 5% on hourly rate , rate increase should also be back-dated to October of last year.

No back pay in this week’s payment.

I believe that RM staff receive theirs next week so, perhaps, we might get ours then.
(Or perhaps, Angard hope we won’t notice!)

In 2016 RM staff got the pay rise in July and Angard didn't get the increase until September, so we may have to wait a bit longer, but you never know. It will all be backdated anyway so you don't lose out.

So has everyone’s pay rate increased as a result of the RM pay rise? Or could this just be an increment the OP was due because of length of service?

Made no sense to me (OP).

It’s not a 1-year Anniversary, or age-related.

No advice from Angard.

It’s a mystery.

It’s not the backpay either.

I think there are three or four grades of AWR pay, so your hourly rates increase approx every 4-6 months until you’ve completed about 15 months service. I know that those sums don’t add up, but that’s basically what happened to me - the length of time between pay increments depends on how many weeks you actually do work and receive a payslip, so it will take some people longer than others to be on the maximum/highest grade (just as it takes some people substantially longer than 12 calendar weeks to receive AWR rates).

Royal Mail staff get a 50p an hour increase after 6 & 12 months so we get the equivalent after 26 time sheets & 52 time sheets. It's also a slightly higher increase around 55p an hour, depends on your local rate. If this doesn't match up with how long you have been with Angard and it's the same this week query it with payroll. You don't want to end up having to pay money back because of an incorrect pay rate.

59p/hour so that what it must be.

I do wish Angard would send automated emails to advise what is happening.

Thanks to all who responded.

Waiting on confirmation from Royal Mail last I heard. The 2016 rise was paid out two months later than Royal Mail staff.

Pay Rate Increased?

One of my colleagues received an email from the senior payroll administeator at Angard about three weeks ago saying that he would look into whether or not Angard employees would be getting a pay rise in line with the Royal Mail including back dating to October. He said he would send out an email to all employees as to whether we would be getting any pay rise etc. Alas as with all promises of a reply within a timescale nothin has been forthcoming. So much for us operating under the same terms and conditions as RM.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Angard workers that were AWR qualified on or before 1st Oct 2017 , will most definitely be entitled to back-dated pay , there is no if's or but's . If Angard do not comply with this, they are breaking AWR regulations on equal pay.
Why "waiting" on confirmation from Royal Mail would come into it I don't know , as Royal Mail and Angard knew months in advance on the agreed pay increase.
It is now 6 weeks since R.M. full and part-time have received back-dated pay.
Seems that Angard staff are not equally treated to that of Royal Mail .
