Parcel firm TNT is offering jobs to axed employees of former rival firm City Link, which went bust on Christmas Day.
Driving and warehouse jobs are among the positions available.
City Link has a small depot in Nottingham, at the Phoenix Centre, on Millennium Way West. The Post previously reported that 48 workers in Nottingham were facing redundancy.
Across the UK, around 2,356 staff face losing their jobs.
TNT says it has received inquiries about vacancies throughout its 70-plus locations across the UK – many of which are depots in cities and towns where City Link previously operated.
Simon Harper, director of operations for TNT UK, said: "While it is unfortunate that City Link – one of our competitors – has ceased to trade, TNT cannot ignore the opportunity to draw on some of the expertise within the City Link business. Across our operation at TNT's three domestic hubs and at various locations throughout the UK, we are looking to further recruit in our warehouses, traffic offices and in all driver categories. There is a wide range of other positions available."
