Yodel: Sorry we missed you, we left your brand new Converse under a plant pot

Thankfully, this tiny plant pot was on hand to protect this package from the gale-force winds and heavy rain battering Britain.

Halifax resident Peter Preston saw red when he returned home last week and found his packaged pair of new Converse in the middle of his driveway.

The hypnotherapist posted a picture of the parcel, delivered by UK firm Yodel, and accompanying note on his Facebook page.

‘What the picture doesn’t show is that to the right, behind the car, is a huge gap for cars and so it was visible to all,’ Mr Preston told Metro.

‘I laughed when I first saw it and then swore. A weird mix of angry and hilarity.’

He added: ‘Any time I am expecting a delivery I dread Yodel being involved.

‘I would love to see Yodel improve as they were responsible for leaving a child seat outside over a weekend a couple of years ago.

‘It wasn’t there when we came home from our weekend with my mum down south.’

Mr Preston said the courier later returned to his house and apologised after the picture was shared over 6,000 times on his Facebook page.

It's been shared all over the place.. on FB and on Twitter too, from what I've heard.

I see stuff like this all too often on my delivery... from both the Yodel and Hermes drivers, but to be fair the Yodel driver does at least attempt to deliver it or leave it in a safe place.. unlike the one in the photo.

To be fair it looks a bit "planted" sitting out in the middle of the driveway.
I think it was more likely out of sight at the front of the car which isn't much better but there's no way the guy sat it in the middle of the drive in plain view with a bucket on top like that.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Really, had a delivery card from Hermes once it said, left in front garden under hedge, hedge was a rose bush under the kitchen window, it was winter so bush had no leaves on it, the garden was open to the road no fence or other hedge to block view of garden from road or footpath, and the packet was in a large blue plastic bag, I could see it half way down the street.

Get them to put a flashing neon sign over the top of it, just in case you can't see it... :whistle

I believe the driver don't get paid if its not classed as "delivered" if its taken back to depot they have to take it out again at their own expense if they are self employed owner drivers. these courier companies do really abuse their staff. I believe one dock the pay of their staff for uniform, van hire, fuel, insurance leaving little left for the driver to take home.
