If this technology which is under experiment in China comes through, postmen will soon be jobless. This technology of delivering products easily at doorsteps without the need of a postman is underway in China.
In the city of Dongguang in the Guangdong of China, aerial octa-rotors have been spotted delivering packages, meant to be delivered by postmen, or courier boys.
An image of such an octa-rotor drone was posted by a Weibo user on the social network. The pic shows this technology being implemented by SF Express a delivery company. The company according to psfk has admitted that it is experimenting trials for drones delivery service, to deliver packages over long distances and to remote areas.
The drones has built-in navigation system and can be monitored by company staff to make sure it lands in its target destination only.
A similar experiment was spotted in the city of Guildford, outside of London this year delivering a pizza. This experiment being undertaken by Domino’s UK, was testing an octa-legged Domicoptor drone that can deliver Pizza at doorstep. This was a remote-controlled drone.
A similar 4-legged drone was also seen as the outcome student’s project in the movie 3 Idiots.
