Yodel courier quits...but firm still dumps 250 Christmas parcels on her

EX-COURIER Danielle Clarke’s house is full of OTHER PEOPLE’S Christmas presents — because Yodel keep sending her parcels even though she quit her delivery job.
The hard-up single mum signed up for a Christmas job with Britain’s biggest distribution service to earn extra money to buy gifts for her five children.
Danielle, 30, claims she was then forced to resign because she couldn’t afford petrol for her car after the firm reneged on a promise to pay her fortnightly.
But Yodel — who deliver for High Street giants like Amazon, Argos and Boots — kept dropping off parcels.
Her terraced house is now piled high with more than 250. They include electrical items, toys, books and perfume.
Danielle, of Sileby, Leics, said: “It’s a disgrace. I’m sitting with a house full of other people’s presents which they probably won’t be getting.
“I still haven’t been paid a penny and have had to borrow money from my mum.”
One customer, retired solicitor Theresa Hallam, 56, told The Sun she has been waiting FOUR WEEKS for a pair of £30 snow boots stuck at Danielle’s house.
She said: “I wondered what had happened to them. This is disgusting.”
Yodel has already lost contracts with Mothercare, John Lewis and Debenhams this year.
In a Sun investigation last month, customers told of couriers dumping parcels in bins or chucking them over fences.
Last night red-faced bosses agreed to pay Danielle what they owe her and promised to send a manager round to pick up all the parcels.
A spokesman said: “We would like to apologise to her. These parcels will all be delivered.”

That's not a lot of packets, only a few days worth really.
And why did she accept them
Just say no.........and if they're dumped...........just phone them and tell them to come and collect them (or you'll phone the council and report them for illegal dumping ).
And why did she accept them

Coming off previous statement about packets being dumped and thrown over fences, chances are they were simply dumped in front of her house, when she was out otherwise she would have said no, she probably took them in to protect it, which she doesn't have to do, which if correct she would have been a good and conscientious worker if Yodel had paid her on time and instead of sitting at home claiming benefits she was actually trying to earn money, that says a lot to me.DGP1 wrote:That's not a lot of packets, only a few days worth really.

Charge them storage fees.
£1 per parcel per day sounds reasonable to me.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
