StockMarketWire.com - UK Mail made a satisfactory start to the financial year, with trading performance for the first quarter in line with expectations.

Reported Group revenues for the first quarter increased by some 13% compared to the same period in the previous year. Adjusting for the increase in Royal Mail prices implemented on 2 April 2012 underlying Group revenues increased by some 10%.

The Parcels business showed good volume growth on the previous year and, although we continue to see a mix change towards B2C, revenues grew solidly.

The Mail business showed good revenue growth both on an absolute and an underlying basis. Mail remains well positioned in its market with a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities.

However the Courier business saw a decline in revenues, as expected, whilst the Pallets business has again achieved revenue growth.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
