Another company that thinks it can do better than us!!

The days of staying in and not going to the toilet between 5am and 9pm while you wait for a parcel to be delivered are almost a thing of the past. Shutl, the recently-launched home delivery company has added some new cities to its roster, and now citizens of Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Liverpool can get stuff that they’ve ordered off of The Internet even faster.

Companies that are allowing their goods to be delivered by Shutl include Argos, Karen Millen, Oasis, Coast and Warehouse with other major high street names expected to follow suit shortly. Shutl already operates in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Manchester.

Their strength is flexibility, with delivery within 90 minutes of ordering available, a service achieved by sourcing goods from local stores rather than central warehouses. The customer agrees to a provided delivery quote before placing the order and can then track the order online using a GPS-powered online map.

Shutl, which is just 18 months old, has raised £650,000 as one of Europe’s largest postal networks joined existing backers in its latest investment round.

Was reserving something on Argos.com ... I planned to pickup the item ... a window pops up - "shuttl can deliver this item for you in as little as 90 mins".

I couldnt believe it.

Now waiting for my parcel.

"Told you this would happen but you wouldn't listen would yer!"

I did say this ages ago and now it's happening. ROYAL MAIL IS NOT FLEXIBLE ENOUGH, that's why this is happening.

If RM don't listen to staff like us, more of this thing will happen. Just look at THE SUCCESS of Eco-postal in Bruussels.TNT caught on to this and said "lets talk business, Monsieur Ettienne."
Cyclogargo's are common place now in many European cities, but not here. Now we get trollies to drag round.
This sort of thing IS THE BIGGEST THREAT TO THE USO, and unless Moya's advisors don't wake up to it and stop this pathetic business suicide attempt with unworkable revisions and gimicks like World Class Mail and Flo, then many a postie like me will realise that WE CAN ALLD DO THIS TYPE OF WORK OURSELVES AS A CO-OPERATIVE NETWORK AND EACH EARN A GRAND A WEEK INSTEAD OF THE POXY WAGES WE ARE ON FOR DELIVERING CRAPPY DOOR TO DOOR LEAFLEFTS WHICH NO ONE WANTS.
DSA has got to go too if we are to function on a level playing field WE HAVE TO DO THIS AND BOTH THE CWU AND CMA should be united on that or else it's pointless because we'll do is further divide ourselves, fragment and be there for the taking.

The business as it calls itself is anything but, but as it seems to have no clear direction of its own to convince the government that it's policy of privatisation is misguided and unworkable, that won't stop others putting their plans into operation, against us, taking more custom and more money that should be ours.
