Mar 30, Colombo: Nineteen trade unions of Sri Lanka Postal Department is to hold a demonstration today against the Post Master General.
The Secretary of the Postal and Telecommunication Trade Union Chinthaka Bandara said that the postal workers will march from the Central Mail Exchange to the President's House to hand over a petition.
The demand of the postal trade unions is to remove the Post Master General and organize the administration of the Postal Department which the trade unions say not efficient.
The secretary of the postal trade union said that the aim of the demonstration is to save the Postal Department that is deteriorating day by day and emphasized that it would not be an action against the government.
