Eire - Postman Pat and his lucky Lotto ticket

POSTMAN PAT IS definitely a very happy man, if reports that he scooped €7 million in the weekend’s Lotto jackpot are true.

Cork man Pat Broderick, who works as a postman, is reported to have won the millions – half of the bumper €14 million Lotto prize – but went back to work as usual yesterday morning.
Both the Irish Daily Mirror and Irish Examiner are reporting that Pat won the millions.

The Irish Daily Mirror says that Kinsale man Pat would only tell them “It could be me. The question everybody’s asking is, ‘Did Postman Pat win the lotto’?”

Pat has been a postman for 25 years and is said to be a very popular man in his local community. But living in such a small place, it’s no surprise that the rumour mill went into overdrive at the weekend.
The Irish Examiner reports that Pat and his wife Mary celebrated the win with some friends and family in the White House bar in Kinsale.

However the winner of the ticket bought in Kingscourt, County Cavan was keeping quiet about their win – as of this morning they hadn’t even approached Lotto headquarters.
