Postal workers to claim Mega Millions prize today

A group of post office employees are expected to accept $46.3 million — less taxes — for having one of two winning Mega Millions tickets today at the state lottery offices in Lansing.

Several employees at the priority mail processing center on Van Born Road are members of a lottery club and are believed to be the holder of one of two tickets that will split a $93 million Mega Millions jackpot. A second winning ticket was sold in Indiana. The Michigan winners will claim their prize at 2 p.m., said Andi Brancato, a Michigan Lottery spokeswoman.
Thursday, the winners were keeping mum.

"The people that have won have requested us not to say anything, but they will talk Friday," said an employee at the postal facility who identified herself only as Brenda. "Everybody is feeling real good about the winners."

The lucky postal workers are the latest in a recent string of big jackpot winners from Michigan.

In November, a group of southeastern Michigan friends split a $128.6 million Powerball jackpot, won with a ticket bought at a Highland Park adult book store. Mike Greer of Farmington Hills claimed the prize for the group.

In late October, Steve Mays of Gladstone won an estimated $140 million Mega Millions payout with a ticket bought at a carryout in his Upper Peninsula hometown.

In June, 14 workers at Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant shared a $96.6 million Mega Millions prize. One of the workers, William Shanteau, bought the winning ticket in Curtice, Ohio, near his home.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
