PLYMOUTH-based parcel delivery drivers have walked out after not being paid.
Six employees from the Langage Farm branch of international company DHL, walked out of work yesterday after two weeks of waiting for their overdue wages.
One man, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that in the several months since he started work there, he had rarely been paid on time.
"We've had enough," said the full-time worker.
He said he joined his delivery driver colleagues in walking out on Friday and the days since then.
He says he is personally owed £300 by the firm, which links more than 220 countries and territories worldwide and employs some 300,000 employees.
"It's worrying when you have a family to support and Christmas is coming up," he said.
"It's the busiest time of year for the company so we don't understand what they're doing."
A DHL spokesperson said that the situation was being rectified.
She confirmed that DHL Express employs 27 people at its Plymouth Service Centre and also engages the services of several sub-contractor drivers.
She said: "Contractors are paid on invoice three times per month. However, unfortunately, due to a processing error, one payment date was missed for six Plymouth drivers last week.
"DHL has apologised for this error and confirmed to those drivers that their missed payments will be made in full as soon as possible, most likely end of this week or early the following week at the latest.
"DHL's local management communicated with affected drivers throughout, whilst making every effort to resolve the matter as quickly as possible."
